04/25/19 – Shawn conducts the JMU Wind Symphony on the world premiere of his wind ensemble piece An Elegant Sufficiency.

04/24/19 – Shawn conducts the JMU Jazz Band on the premiere of a new jazz band arrangement of Steely Dan’s Bad Sneakers.

04/14/19 – Shawn’s Little Brother Andrew Parker is initiated as a Brother into the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Gamma Alpha Chapter.

04/08/19 – Shawn begins to rehearse the JMU Wind Symphony on his new work for wind ensemble entitled An Elegant Sufficiency.

04/05/19 – Bloo Lagoon headlines JMU Relay for Life.

04/03/19 – Shawn performs with the JMU Wind Symphony on the premiere of Mason Moy’s Synthetic Speech and on Jim Stephenson’s massive Symphony No. 2: Voices.

03/16/19 – Shawn performs with Bloo Lagoon for the first time opening for Charlottesville based rock band Lord Nelson at Clementine.

03/14/19 – Shawn releases a new recording of an excerpt of a jazz chart entitled El Canto de Byrd with dear friend and trumpeter Charlie Frise.

02/27/19 – Shawn joins the Harrisonburg based funk band Bloo Lagoon as their trombonist.

02/24/19 – Shawn’s tuba euphonium quartet entitled The Natural Lands is performed on the Senior Recital of Brian Juntilla by Mitchell Evans, Evan Amoroso, Nick Warmuth and Brian Juntilla.

02/06/19 – Shawn takes upon Andrew Parker as his Little Brother in the music fraternity Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.

01/29/19 – Shawn and the JMU Symphonic Band deliver a successful Lecture Recital, culminated with the world premiere of WIGILIA: A Polish Folk Suite for Wind Band.

01/10/19 – Shawn begins to rehearse WIGILIA with the JMU Symphonic Band.

01/06/2019 – Shawn finishes his research for his Lecture Recital with the completion of a new wind band piece entitled WIGILIA: A Polish Folk Suite for Wind Band.

12/19/18 – Shawn flies to Chicago with the JMU Band Staff for the Midwest Band & Orchestra Clinic

12/09/18 – Shawn performs his first concert with the Massanutten Brass Band.

12/03/18 – Shawn performs his last concert with JMU Jazz Ensemble.

11/22/18 – The JMU Marching Royal Dukes perform Shawn’s arrangement of On Broadway & I Got Rhythm at the 92nd Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

11/16/18 – JMUArts releases an article on the JMU Marching Royal Dukes imminent participation in the 92nd Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade and Shawn’s arrangement of On Broadway & I Got Rhythm.

11/02/18 – Shawn performs Steven Verhelst’s Devils Waltz with dear friend and tubist Kai Smith on his Senior Recital.

10/29-10/30/18 – Shawn goes on tour with the JMU Wind Symphony around Northern Virginia.

10/28/18 – Shawn re-releases a recording of his arrangement of Snarky Puppy’s Lingus, recorded by the Ashford Quartet with new cover art by Ian Potash.

10/26/18 –  Shawn conducts the JMU Jazz Band on his arrangement of Donald Fagen’s Walk Between the Raindrops.

10/24/18 – Shawn conducts Libby Larsen’s An Introduction to the Moon with the JMU Symphonic Band in the presence of the composer.

08/22/18 – The JMU Marching Royal Dukes begin to rehearse Shawn’s arrangement of  On Broadway & I Got Rhythm for the 92nd Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

07/11/18 – Shawn releases a new trombone choir piece, an adaptation of Jacob Collier’s arrangement of You and I, composed by Stevie Wonder.

06/29/18 – Shawn is featured in Warwick Music’s Composer Corner.

06/14/18Toby Oft professionally records two of Shawn’s arrangements for trombone and piano in Symphony Hall in Boston.

05/24/18 – Shawn performs on the premiere of Daniel Bukvich’s Rhythm and the New World in the Age of Machines in honor of Mr. Stephen Massey’s retirement.

04/04/18 – Shawn conducts the premiere of his arrangement of Anthony Alvaro’s One Bright Star with the James Madison University Symphonic Band.

04/03/18 – Shawn and his band arrangement One Bright Star are catalogued on the Wind Repertory Project,  a comprehensive database of wind literature, expanded by contributions of band directors/conductors, students, and wind band enthusiasts worldwide.
