Program Notes

Walk Between the Raindrops marked my first arrangement for jazz ensemble, arranged in the summer of 2013. Walk Between the Raindrops is the last track on Fagen’s debut 1982 album The Nightly; one of my favorite albums of all time. Donald Fagen, known best as one of the founders of Steely Dan,  is one of my most pivotal musical inspirations and I wanted to pay homage to him and his artistry. The arrangement features all horn sections of the ensemble, passing around the melody with a drum solo added in towards the end of the tune.
