Program Notes

Take Me To The Moondance At Five is a musical mash up of two of my favorite tracks of all time, Take Five by the Dave Brubeck Quartet and Moondance by Van Morrison. The concept for this arrangement came about due to the song’s similar chord progressions on the verse. A majority of the chart centers in 5/4 time and it features the saxophone section, paying homage to the great saxophone playing that takes place on both original tracks.
Van Morrison, 1982
