Program Notes
Fingerprints for jazz ensemble was arranged in the summer of 2018. Fingerprints is also the ninth track on Hiatus Kaiyote’s 2015 album Choose Your Weapon. Fingerprints marks the first arrangement and release for the virtual big band The Sages of Future Soul and aims to capture the brilliance of the music of Hiatus Kaiyote in a larger orchestration. The arrangement features the lead trombone, lead tenor sax, and solo trumpet along with the rhythm section of the jazz band. The laid back tempo and lush harmonies are well suited for any experience high school to professional jazz ensemble.
