Program Notes

Ernest Guiraud’s famous orchestral settings of Georges Bizet’s operatic music of Carmen has gone on to become a standard in the orchestral repertoire, and as of 2022, the suite now exists in a slightly smaller orchestration arranged for trombone, trumpet and piano. Commissioned by the fantastic Trio Modern Harmony, this six movement piece is a fun addition to the brass chamber repertoire!
