Program Notes
Bad Sneakers for jazz ensemble was arranged in the summer of 2018. Bad Sneakers is also the second track on Steely Dan’s 1975 album Katy Lied; another one of my favorite albums of all time. Steely Dan is one of my favorite bands ever and I wanted to flush out a high school level jazz band arrangement to expose more students to the wonderful music of Steely Dan. The arrangement features the lead tenor sax, along with all sections of the band later in the chart.
